Kiamichi Tech Pre-Employment Transition Services Named 2024 Workforce Partner of the Year

OKLAHOMA CITY – Kiamichi Tech Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) has been recognized as the 2024 Workforce Partner of the Year by the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services (DRS). The award was presented during the 31st annual People with Disabilities Awareness Day on March 11, 2025, at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City. 
  
Each year, DRS honors individuals and organizations that significantly impact the disability community by fostering inclusivity and paving the way for success. Kiamichi Tech’s Pre-ETS program was selected for its commitment to empowering students with disabilities by providing job readiness training, career exploration and self-advocacy support. 
  
“Kiamichi Tech is honored to receive this award and to be recognized for our dedication to supporting all students as they prepare for their futures,” said Shelley Free, Superintendent of Kiamichi Tech. “Our Pre-ETS specialists are passionate about ensuring every student has the tools and confidence they need to achieve their career goals and independence.” 
  
Pre-ETS at Kiamichi Tech offers introductory career services to qualified students, helping them identify career interests and develop essential skills for community integration, post-secondary education and competitive employment. With nine specialists serving southeast Oklahoma, the program impacted nearly 2,000 students last year. 
  
“This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our Pre-ETS specialists, who provide invaluable guidance and resources that empower all students,” said Michelle Murray, Director of Student Services at Kiamichi Tech. “We are committed to continuing our partnership with DRS and ensuring that students have access to the support they need to succeed.”
